Can I tell you how much I love having a waterpark in my backyard? (Ok, not quite in my backyard — it's an hour away. I'll take an hour drive to Yorkville, IL vs. Wisconsin Dells which takes us close to 5 hours). Raging Waves is 45 acres of pure fun!

You literally can spend the entire day at Raging Waves. We found the prices very reasonable. Parking was free (unless you park close, and then it is $7). The food prices were cheaper than we expected to pay. They were in line to what you'd pay at a fast food restaurant. (They even have options if you have food allergies. I highly recommend you call them a day before and they can talk to you regarding their options for you. Also, if you are coming with a large group of people and have dietary restrictions or are looking for a specific food, call them! They are totally willing to work with you!).

Illinois' largest waterpark features 17 waterslides, a wave pool, lazy river and several interactive kids' areas with water cannons, zero depth pools, slides and sandy beach area. Slides include the Boomerang, various speed slides and several family raft rides. My kids loved the wave pool. They even have sand you can play in!

They also have a great program you can be part of! Donate a new or gently-used backpack at Raging Waves, and receive $5 off a full-priced over 48″ general admission ticket (regularly priced at $29.99). Backpacks will be donated to Project Just Start. In the 10 communities that Project Just Start assists, there are over 23,000 people living below poverty. Find out more about Project Just Start, donating a backpack, and your discount byclicking here.

I love keeping my spending local. Best of all, the Raging Waves Waterpark rocks, and I can only recommend spending part of your summer here!

What a cool place, indeed perfect for all the family. Need to add to my bucket list I am sure my grandson would love to go!

    Fun times!

That looks like an amazing place to spend the day! I love waterparks but with three boys I now worry about keeping my eye on them when they all go in different directions! We don’t really have many open air water parks here in the UK for obvious reasons – but I wish we did!

  4. Elayne

Living in California, I have never been to a water park since we have so many beaches. My boys have been asking to go to one this summer, so it’s on our to do list.

  5. Christy Maurer

That is so cool that there is sand at the park. We are going to Wildwater Kingdom in Ohio this Saturday! I’m looking so forward to it!

  6. We go to the water park every so often. With so many creeks around, though, are water park is generally one of the creeks. That looks like a great park.

  7. Jeannette

Wow – I wish we had something like that around here! Most of the places we go don’t even provide enough entertainment for a half a day and my boys love being in the water! I think we would be there once a week if we were close enough!

  8. Jeanine

Oh this looks great. I would love to spend the day at a place like this. It’s long over due. Looks like you had a great time!

  9. Heather

It looks like fun! I think my closest one is about two hours away. My kids are just learning how to swim right now, but when they are comfortable in the water, I think a once or twice a year trip to the water park would be a fun family thing!

  10. I love brands that give back, how cool that Raging Waves will be donating the Backpacks to Project Just Start. It always makes me feel good to support a brand that is doing good!

That’s such a great way to give back! I’m sure plenty of family’s have backpacks they’ve outgrown.

What a wonderful place to go spend time with family. There is so much to do. I like when I can spend the whole day in one place.

  12. Alli

Waterparks are so much fun and it’s even more fun when you don’t have to drive half a day to get to one. I love that they take gently used backpacks to help those less fortunate. Sounds like a really great place to take the family.

Wow .. it looks like more than a Waterpark but an activity centre … I love the little Carts. Since I’m not into Water Parks I would still go for the other rides 🙂

  14. Liz Mays

This would be an awesome place for a family day in the summer. 17 waterslides? Wow! You really could spend all day there!

  15. What a fun place to spend a hot summer day! And I love that they support such a great cause.

So fun! We are hoping to go to a local water park this weekend. Hoping for good weather!

  18. This looks like so much fun. I like how they are giving back too and helping kids in need. Their efforts can go a long way. 🙂

The real sand is cool, they had that at Aquatica too near the wave pool.

  19. Carol Bryant

It was 95 degrees here today so a water park sounds like a fantastic idea!

  20. Ourfamilyworld

We love going to water parks, too. How nice that this park offers options for those with food allergies. Not all parks do that. You guys had a blast!

  21. Rosey

I believe you that you could spend the day there. I love to go to places just like this with the kids in the summertime too. 🙂

This is lovely. We have a raging waters here and I remember going to it as a kid. It was definitely a lot of fun but I never saw fun little cars like these!

  26. Dina

17 waterslides and a wave pool? Sign me up! My kids would have a blast here!

  27. This looks like so much fun! I live in Michigan so most of the water parks here are indoors. I have one down the road from me. I always find that weird since I live in a small town rural area.

  28. Shannon Gurnee

Our kids love waterparks! Sounds like your family had a great time!

  29. desirae young

Looks like you guys had a fabulous time! I wish we had something like that around here. We usually just go to Carowinds and the waterpark is always slammed packed!
