Raging Waves Waterpark

Can I tell you how much I love having a waterpark in my backyard? (Ok, not quite in my backyard — it’s an hour away. I’ll take an hour drive to Yorkville, IL vs. Wisconsin Dells which takes us close to 5 hours). Raging Waves is 45 acres of pure fun!

You literally can spend the entire day at Raging Waves. We found the prices very reasonable. Parking was free (unless you park close, and then it is $7). The food prices were cheaper than we expected to pay. They were in line to what you’d pay at a fast food restaurant. (They even have options if you have food allergies. I highly recommend you call them a day before and they can talk to you regarding their options for you. Also, if you are coming with a large group of people and have dietary restrictions or are looking for a specific food, call them! They are totally willing to work with you!).

Illinois’ largest waterpark features 17 waterslides, a wave pool, lazy river and several interactive kids’ areas with water cannons, zero depth pools, slides and sandy beach area. Slides include the Boomerang, various speed slides and several family raft rides. My kids loved the wave pool.  They even have sand you can play in!

They also have a great program you can be part of!  Donate a new or gently-used backpack at Raging Waves, and receive $5 off a full-priced over 48″ general admission ticket (regularly priced at $29.99).  Backpacks will be donated to Project Just Start. In the 10 communities that Project Just Start assists, there are over 23,000 people living below poverty.  Find out more about Project Just Start, donating a backpack, and your discount by clicking here.

I love keeping my spending local. Best of all, the Raging Waves Waterpark rocks, and I can only recommend spending part of your summer here!

  1. That looks like an amazing place to spend the day! I love waterparks but with three boys I now worry about keeping my eye on them when they all go in different directions! We don’t really have many open air water parks here in the UK for obvious reasons – but I wish we did!

  2. Living in California, I have never been to a water park since we have so many beaches. My boys have been asking to go to one this summer, so it’s on our to do list.

  3. Wow – I wish we had something like that around here! Most of the places we go don’t even provide enough entertainment for a half a day and my boys love being in the water! I think we would be there once a week if we were close enough!

  4. It looks like fun! I think my closest one is about two hours away. My kids are just learning how to swim right now, but when they are comfortable in the water, I think a once or twice a year trip to the water park would be a fun family thing!

  5. What a wonderful place to go spend time with family. There is so much to do. I like when I can spend the whole day in one place.

  6. Waterparks are so much fun and it’s even more fun when you don’t have to drive half a day to get to one. I love that they take gently used backpacks to help those less fortunate. Sounds like a really great place to take the family.

  7. Wow .. it looks like more than a Waterpark but an activity centre … I love the little Carts. Since I’m not into Water Parks I would still go for the other rides 🙂

  8. This looks like so much fun. I like how they are giving back too and helping kids in need. Their efforts can go a long way. 🙂

The real sand is cool, they had that at Aquatica too near the wave pool.

  9. I believe you that you could spend the day there. I love to go to places just like this with the kids in the summertime too. 🙂
