Revealing The Truth About Mathnasium

Mathnasium

When it comes to helping kids build confidence in math, there are numerous options available, ranging from online programs to private tutors. But not all math help is created equal, and finding the right fit can feel overwhelming. That’s why I wanted to share our family’s recent experience. Over the last month or so, my kids have been attending Mathnasium. Never heard of them? Well, Mathnasium is a learning center dedicated exclusively to math. They are unique and one of the best centers out there to help your kids with math. There are many reasons why Mathnasium should be on your radar, and why you should consider sending your kids there, too! Here’s my Mathnasium review!

Education Strategy

Mathnasium

Mathnasium employs a well-rounded teaching strategy that caters to every learning style: mental, verbal, visual, tactile, and written. This multi-sensory approach helps kids truly grasp the math concepts they’re working on, instead of just memorizing steps. The result? They walk out with real understanding, not frustration. The instructors take time to meet each child where they are, explaining concepts in the way that makes the most sense for them.

Assessments

Mathnasium

At Mathnasium, the first step is figuring out exactly where your child is in their math journey. Instead of assuming based on age or grade level, they start with an assessment during your first visit. This test identifies any skill gaps and highlights areas where your child requires additional support. You’ll get the results right away, so you can see exactly where the challenges are and, more importantly, how Mathnasium can help close those gaps.

Workbooks

Mathnasium

Each child at Mathnasium gets a personalized workbook filled with the exact skills they need to practice. Both of my kids received their own set of worksheets tailored to their level, and the best part is that they’re encouraged to work at their own pace. This has been especially helpful since Madison tends to take her time while Will works a little faster. They’ve even been able to bring in their regular school math homework, which the instructors were happy to walk them through, making sure they understood those concepts as well.

Rewards

Mathnasium also makes learning fun by rewarding students for their hard work. Each time the kids completed worksheets, they earned cards that could be saved up and traded in for prizes. The rewards kept them motivated. Will even set his sights on a drum mat and had to save up five cards to get it (which wasn’t easy!).

Mathnasium Near Me

Mathnasium is everywhere in Chicagoland! With more than 40 locations in the Chicagoland area, chances are there’s one close to you making it super convenient to get your child the support they need.

Need Lots of Math Help? Just Need a Little Math Help? They do both!

Mathnasium isn’t just for kids who are struggling in math. They truly work with every type of learner. Whether your child needs extra support, is right on track, or is looking for more of a challenge, Mathnasium tailors their approach to meet each student’s needs.

Mathnasium Instructors

At Mathnasium, instructors work with students in small groups rather than strictly by age. Your child may not have the same instructor every visit, but each one is trained to step in, provide guidance, and keep them moving forward.

Progress Reports

At the end of each month, parents receive a detailed progress report by email. It clearly shows how your child is doing and highlights the areas where they’ve made improvements.

How Much Does Mathnasium Cost?

Pricing can vary depending on the location and the specific program, since each plan is tailored to fit your child’s individual needs. For the most accurate details on membership rates, it’s best to check in with your local Mathnasium Learning Center.

At the end of the day, every parent just wants to see their kids succeed, and math is one of those subjects that can either build confidence or create lasting frustration. After seeing how much my kids have grown in just a short time, I can honestly say Mathnasium lives up to its reputation. Their unique approach, individualized learning plans, and supportive instructors truly make a difference. If math has ever been a struggle in your household, or you just want to give your child an extra boost, Mathnasium is worth a closer look. Sometimes the right environment makes all the difference and for us, that environment has been Mathnasium.

  1. My kiddo is struggling with math right now! I need to see if they have this place close to us. Summer is coming and I need to make sure he keeps up with the other kids.

  2. Kids are so lucky these days to have plenty of educational resources. I wish I have known this when I was a kid, I struggle with Math it’s been my all time hated subject in school. One day I will bring my nephew and nieces to Chicagoland for surely they would love it.

  3. We have a couple of them and I feel like I need to go so I can help my kiddos with their homework. I have one in AP Calculus and I just don’t know how he manages to maintain an “A”. If he grade were to slip Mathnasium sounds like something we would need to invest in.

  4. I like that you do not have to be struggling with Mathematics, that way kids that struggle with Maths do not have to feel bad about being there as it doesn’t isolate them. Brilliant concept.

  5. I’ve never heard of Mathnasium but I think it’s a great place for kids to learn and understand math better especially if they’re having a tough time at school. I love that they assess the kids and focus on where they need to improve!

  6. This looks like it would be so great as a learning experience. Making math fun is one of the hardest things for a kiddo that just isn’t for it.
