- 6 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ⅛ tsp ground nutmeg
- ½ tsp salt
- 6 tbsp buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp melted unsalted sweet cream butter
- pam spray
Icing ingredients
- 1 C powder sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- drops black food coloring
- edible eyes
Instructions
Cake Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Spray your baking pan and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, ground nutmeg and salt. Use a whisk to mix until combined.
- Mix in the buttermilk, egg and melted butter.
- Scoop some batter into your doughnut pans and bake for 8-12 minutes.
- Once done, place the baking pan onto a wired rack to cool.
Icing Directions
- Add in the food coloring and mix until combined. You may need to add in a few more drops to get the shade you want.
- Place a cookie sheet under the wire rack.
- Place the doughnuts onto the wire rack that way when you pour the icing over the doughnut the icing will drip onto the cookie sheet.
- Pour icing over doughnuts.
- Let doughnuts sit for 5 minutes before you add on the eyes.
- Once eyes are placed, let sit for 15 minutes before enjoying!
