Instructions
Cake Directions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Spray your baking pan and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, ground nutmeg and salt. Use a whisk to mix until combined.
Mix in the buttermilk, egg and melted butter.
Scoop some batter into your doughnut pans and bake for 8-12 minutes.
Once done, place the baking pan onto a wired rack to cool.
Icing Directions
In a mixing bowl, combine the powder sugar, milk and vanilla and mix until smooth. If the icing is still chunky, add in 1-2 more tablespoons of milk.
Add in the food coloring and mix until combined. You may need to add in a few more drops to get the shade you want.
Place a cookie sheet under the wire rack.
Place the doughnuts onto the wire rack that way when you pour the icing over the doughnut the icing will drip onto the cookie sheet.
Pour icing over doughnuts.
Let doughnuts sit for 5 minutes before you add on the eyes.
Once eyes are placed, let sit for 15 minutes before enjoying!
