3. Emily Beazley

If you’re not from Chicago, you may not know the name Emily Beazley. Emily was a 12-year-old girl and one of Taylor Swift’s biggest fans, who sadly passed away in May after a brave and very public battle with cancer. Just two weeks before her passing, Emily had one of her final wishes granted. She got to speak with Taylor, her favorite singer. Taylor even invited her to attend this show, as well as the one in Detroit, though Emily was too ill to make it. Purple and green, Emily’s favorite colors, became symbols of support during her fight with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. In a beautiful tribute, Taylor wore a purple and green outfit during one of her costume changes, and the entire stadium lit up in those same colors. It was such a touching, class-act gesture. One that surely meant the world to Emily’s family, and as a community, we were thrilled and grateful that Taylor took the time to call Emily before she passed.

4. Girl Empowerment

Girl empowerment was front and center. With two young girls by my side, I loved hearing Taylor encourage and uplift them with her words. She spoke in a way that made it feel personal, as if she were talking directly to each person in the audience. For a moment, you truly felt like her very best friend.

5. The Crowd

The crowds were unbelievable. You could instantly tell this was the place to be. Honestly, it was the biggest concert Bill and I have ever attended, and the energy from that many people all in one place was unforgettable.

Taylor mentioned there were around 55,000 people in attendance. Just a small crowd, of course.

6. The People

One of the most entertaining parts of the night was the people-watching. From clever signs to fans dressed up in full character, the crowd was just as much fun to watch as the show itself.

I think Taylor Swift is an awesome role model for young girls. I have all boys, so we won’t be seeing her live, but I LOVE a lot of her music.

    2. SO JEALOUS! I LOVE Taylor! My weekend was pretty great though – I saw Luke Bryan. No complaints there at all!

What an amazing first concert experience she had! She is NEVER going to forget it!

    3. Way to go TeeTay. I love her and would definitely want to go to one of her concerts. Anybody here belongs to the TeeTay squad?

    4. Taylor Swift seems to be the “in girl” singers these days! I don’t think most people really need any reasons to want to go see here! What great reasons you highlighted! I think tickets to some concerts are pretty expensive, but then again, most of them are a once in a lifetime opportunity!

    5. It looks like an awesome concert and definitely amazing for a first concert. I have not been to a concert in a few years and never have I seen Taylor Swifts concert. I would love to see one some day. Thanks for sharing.

    6. I’m not a Taylor Swift fan and my daughter isn’t old enough for her music yet but the concert looked like it was awesome. So glad you had the opportunity to share the memory with your daughter.

    7. Taylor Swift is actually of the top 40 artists that I like. I thought about seeing her in concert recently, but the tickets were crazy expensive for two people. Maybe someday, though! 🙂

    8. This would be an amazing show to go and see. I will have to look to see when she will be in my area next. I bet you had an amazing experience. I love her music.

    9. I think it’s cool when artists are family friendly. I recently saw Volbeat and Anthrax (both metal bands) and Volbeat brought every kid in the audience up on stage with them for one song. Was pretty cool seeing 50 or so kids age 4-15 up on stage at a metal show.
