Have you gone on vacation yet this summer? We just got back from our vacation, and I can tell you that my Green Dot® Reloadable Prepaid Visa® Card definitely helped us to manage expenses and plan accordingly for summer travel. We used our Green Dot® Reloadable Prepaid Visa® Card for:
Dinner and Dessert
Shopping (and yes, we shopped till my son dropped!):
And even snacks:
The Green Dot® Reloadable Prepaid Visa® Card made it so easy to manage our money while we were gone. The only thing we had to think about is having fun! The Green Dot card is part of the Visa Clear Prepaid program meaning it has a clearly communicated monthly fee plan so confusing fees won’t distract you while you’re enjoying your vacation. If your card is lost or stolen while you’re out having fun, don’t worry. Your Green Dot® Reloadable Prepaid Visa® Card funds are protected by Visa’s Zero Liability* policy! You also don't have to worry about spending too much while you are gone. You can only spend what you put on the card!
Cards can be purchased at nationwide retailers like CVS, 7-Eleven, Kmart, Family Dollar, Dollar General, Rite Aid, Walgreens and Walmart. I bought mine at Walgreens and loaded it right there. The card showed up about 2 (aff) weeks later in the mail, and we took it on vacation with us. We may have picked up a few souvenirs with it too.
How would you use your Green Dot® Reloadable Prepaid Visa® Card?
*Visa’s Zero Liability Policy covers U.S.-issued cards and does not apply to certain commercial card transactions, or any transactions not processed by Visa. You must notify your financial institution immediately of any unauthorized use. For specific restrictions, limitations and other details, please consult your issuer.
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of the Visa Clear Prepaid program and the Green Dot® Reloadable Prepaid Visa® Card.
I think prepaid cards are a great way to pay for travelling. I love it because if a thief steals my card, I only have to worry about them taking what’s on the card and not going on a shopping spree for thousands.
That is a great idea. I love not having to worry about stuff when I am on vacation!
Looks like a great way to manage what you spend without having to carry cash. Credit cards can cause you to overspend in the moment sometimes. Love that the cards are at all the National Drug stores. I have seen promotions for them, but have never purchased one, maybe I will give them a try.
Cool ideas. This would keep me to a budget too. Your photos look great. You had a blast using this card!
Prepaid credit cards are such a good idea because you won’t overspend then. That picture of your son is so cute! Shopping is tiring 🙂
Every time I go on vacation I grab one of these cards. It makes life so much less worrisome.
I heard about this and I’m so curious to try it! Sounds perfect for travels especially when you have lots on your mind and many kids to worry about.
Aww poor little fella, lots of shopping eh? I have never tried reloadable card yet but it sounds very good and effective.
We have never tried that kind of card ,but If I had it, I think I will also shop ’til I drop and grab me a dessert like that. 🙂
I like using reloadable prepaid cards as I tend to go overboard when it comes to shopping. With prepaid cards, I only get to spend the money I loaded in the card.
I love the idea of having a prepaid card while on vacation. It would help limit spending and help you keep track of your budget easier.
I really like the idea of using prepaid cards while on vacation. I did it last year and it helped me know I wasn’t going over budget.
I love this idea. It could help a lot on keeping me on budget! (I like to shop off list. LOL)
What a great pre-planned idea for vacationing. By the way, that ice cream looked so good!
Prepaid cards offers lots of security when traveling. You don’t have to worry if they get lost or stolen because it’s only what you loaded on there instead of all your money being at risk.
My aunt always uses a prepaid Visa for her vacations. The only time I’ve had trouble trying is in restaurants. The tip can’t be factored or some weird thing so it gets declined!
I need this for my next vacation, I like how you can load the amount of money you want to use verses having your entire bank account open to wherever you shop.
Green Dot® Reloadable Prepaid Visa® Card sound like a safer way to keep to your budget and prevent thieves from getting all your cash when you travel, thanks for sharing.
These desserts look so good and I love the picture of you son under the thing, lol Green Dot card is awesome to have when traveling because you don’t over spend. It is a great way to stay on your budget. Thanks for sharing.
This sounds like something I would have needed when I went on my trip not too long ago! I will look into using it the next time. Thank you!
We always use Green Dot cards. I even keep one as a savings card, I reload it all year and then I use it for Christmas shopping.
I need to remember to use prepaid cards on vacation- so much smarter than cash! Thanks for this post!
I seriously love prepaid cards! They make my life so much easier on vacations!
A prepaid card is a great way to manage money when you’re on vacation. We don’t have a credit card anymore because it’s too easy to run up a lot of debt and we want to live debt free.
I haven’t used a reloadable card before but I know many families that use them for the reasons that you do. LOL at your son, I guess using the card made it that much more fun.
These re-loadable VISA cards are very very convenient. I couldn’t stress enough on how practical they are and I think a lot safer + they help you spend within your means. I have one and I haven’t worried about credit card bills in a long time.
That’s such a good idea to use while traveling!
I love the picture of your son. He just couldn’t take it anymore! lol
Hadn’t thought of the theft protection aspect of a prepaid card, that’s a really good point. Most banks are good about fraudulent use but it’s still a pain to have to deal with.
Seems like that Green Dot Prepaid Visa Card will also help us manage our expenses. I wonder if it’s available here?
