Unwrapping the Magic of Holiday Traditions

Holiday Traditions

It is hard to believe that Christmas is almost here (or whatever you celebrate).  It seems like last week it was summer, and now we have 10 inches of snow here in Chicago.  For my family, the holiday season is all about celebration.  This year, General Mills is celebrating the keepers of holiday traditions and encouraging everyone to share their own #HolidayTraditions.  Did you know that for the last 150 years, General Mills and its family of brands have served the world by making food people love?  Every family has something that they do every year.

Our Traditions

  • I work Santa’s Workshop with all my friends who are parents.  We’ve done this for 8 years now!Unwrapping the Magic of Holiday Traditions
  • We shop and donate toys to kids who aren’t as blessed as we are.Holiday Traditions
  • I make cute fruit trays to bring places.Holiday Traditions
  • We travel every holiday season.  It tends to snow.  LOLHoliday Traditions
  • Decorating the tree.  My kids are old enough now that we really let them go to town and help set up and decorate the tree.  They actually do a pretty good job.  Holiday Traditions
  • Decorating cookies with the kids. I love that General Mills makes it so easy with their products, saving me a lot of time! Thank you, Pillsbury and Betty Crocker, for such yummy Christmas cookies!Holiday Traditions
  • If we have snow, we build a snowman.Holiday Traditions
  • We also decorate outside our home.  After we do that, we drive around to look at everybody else’s decorations!Holiday Traditions
  • I go out with my friends and paint a holiday canvas!Holiday Traditions
  • On Christmas Day, we stay in our PJs and play games all day as a family.  It is the ultimate family game day for us.  Our holiday season is so busy that it is nice to just spend the day together without having to go anywhere.
