Superbad

Superbad is a new movie that is coming out on August 17th. From the previews I have seen, it is somewhat like Dazed and Confused. It is about 3 friends who are seniors in high school. In the fall, they will attend different schools, and you get to see how they handles this and the remainder of their senior year. The funniest part is that they are geeks, so you get to see their awkwardness towards social situations (which makes for some great comedy). You can see a preview of Superbad on You Tube tomorrow (August 1st). There are 5 videos, so make sure that you watch them all (I personally love the one that takes place in the Home Ec class. He talks so fast that you really have to listen to catch everything he says).

I hate to admit it, but I caught myself giggling at the clips for this movie. I originally thought it was going to be cheesy, but I am definitely interested and amused by what I have seen so far. The movie seems pretty witty. If you decide you like it, check out these ringtones and downloadable items like wallpaper. This looks like a great summer movie to watch right before school gets back into session.

Weird Converter

I came across a site that, well, is definitely weird. It is called Weird Converter, and it will convert things for you. Weird things. I can see Mr Fab having a field day over there. For example, the 1 Average Amount of Urine Produced/Human/Day = 18.70324184605 Mean Ejaculate Volume of a White Rhinoceros. Yes, I know you really wanted to know that. You can convert based on height/length, volume, and weight. Go try it out and let me know what you converted.

Cups

With Will’s baptism coming up, I have been slowly making a list of what I need to buy. I wonder if I should add personalized cups to my list. Nothing is more annoying after a party than throwing away several dozen cups more than you had people. People lose their drink or do not remember which glass is theirs and get a new one. If their name is on their cup, it is slightly harder to do that. This is especially helpful when a ton the partygoers will be kids (my baptism party qualifies here).

Coupons

I am going to be running over to Home Depot today and possibly going to be buying some more paint.  Madison drew some nifty artwork on my hallway wall, and I would love to get rid of it.  I figure the easiest way is just to paint over it.  Since Office Depot is right next door, I know I will have to stop in there.

However, before I leave, I will stop in at Coupon Chief and see what deals they have for me.  Home Depot is not on their list, but I can get some Office Depot coupons.  I may even check out the Best Buy coupons.  I am not sure what today holds in store, but I always love a trip to Best Buy.

Marcus has a great series going on over at My Thoughts on how to become a better blogger. The very first thing he tells you to do is get your stats from Popuri. Then we all know where we started from, and you will have a good measure on how these steps helped you improve your blog. Here are my stats:

Google PageRank: 4 DETAILS

Alexa Rank: 60,762 DETAILS

Compete Rank: 0 DETAILS

Quantcast Rank: 437,313 DETAILS

del.icio.us Bookmarks: 2 DETAILS

Bloglines subscribers: 5 DETAILS

Step 1 talks about getting your site pinged. I already do that. However, Marcus had a few I didn’t. If you are not pinging, you definitely need to go check out his list and start doing so. Why should you ping? It lets the search engines and everybody else know when you have new content (aka new post) up.

Step 2 talks about signing up for Feedburner.  I’ve done that already too!!

Step 3 talks about posting every day.  That is also something I try to do.  It keeps your readers interested in your content.

Step 4 is optimizing your blog for the search engines.   Marcus definitely has some good suggestions about how to get good quality inbound links.  This is something I am constantly working on.

Step 5 talks about your “about me” page and why you need to set one up.   This is another thing I have already done.

This is as far as the steps have gotten.  So far, so good.  I am currently doing a lot of these things already.
