Lisa Martin is a native of Wisconsin but now resides in the Chicago area with her husband and two children born 2004 and 2007. She is a work-at-home mom who uses her skills and talents for freelance jobs. At any given time, she’s usually tied-up with three or four projects in addition to her full-time blogging.
Lisa started blogging in April of 2006, as a means of keeping in touch with long-distance family and friends. After experiencing some personal issues in July of the same year, she learned she could help others with her experiences…through blogging.
Lisa has participated in several exclusive media projects, including the Sony Mommy Bloggers Event (2008), the Pampers Mommy Bloggers Event(2009), the Epson Event in Chicago (2009), the Stouffers Event (2009), a yacht ride with Lands End (2009), 1-800-Baskets (2009), blogger exclusive Mrs. Prindable’s tour (2010), Hallmark (2011), PopCap games (2011), Chicago Cubs Mastercard Priceless Events (2012), and Rug Doctor (2012). In add, addition to these personal appearances, Lisa’s blog has also been quoted in The New York Times and she has been interviewed by the Southtown Star, The Chicago Sun Times, and inside. She also spoke on the doterati panel Blog Marketing Demystified in October 2009. She has also worked with Nutrisystem on a weight loss project for a year that enabled her to lose almost 80 lbs. She has also worked with Disney and has done press trips with them for the movie Frozen, Guardians of the Galaxy, McFarland USA, The Good Dinosaur, The BFG, and Cars 3 and was able to interview the celebrities involved with these projects (Frozen, The BFG, and Cars 3 allowed her to walk the red carpet). She has also worked with Buick and Chevy. Lisa also has worked with Sprint as a brand ambassador.
