Every so often I come across a product that Bill could really use at work. Since it is a smaller company, sometimes they actually take our suggestions. The product I saw today was for a business card reader. As a project manager, he has hundreds of business cards that he keeps in a file. He has business cards from general contractors to suppliers to customers (and about a hundred other people that I am missing). Finding the card he needs when he wants it can be somewhat cumbersome. He doesn’t have a secretary, so currently, if he wants the information in the computer, he has to type it himself. However, this scanning software solves that problem for him. The scanner scans the card in less than 5 seconds and then creates a record in Microsoft Outlook. It can get both the data and any images on the card. Instead of having to carry a huge binder with cards in it, he can just bring his laptop (which he usually has on him anyway). It looks way more professional in my opinion. The cost for this product is $179 which is way cheaper than his company hiring a secretary to do this for him. I plan on showing this to him later to see what he thinks. In my eyes, it is a definite time saver.

We now have our vacation scheduled for February. We are going to Sedona, AZ. The plane tickets and hotel rooms are both booked now. All I have to do is schedule renting a car, and we are ready to go! When I called Delta this morning, I was a little surprised that we had to pay the taxes on the free tickets. It is only $28 a piece, but still. In the overall scheme of things, the tickets were $409 a piece, so we still are coming out ahead.
We have requested a ton of information to be sent to us regarding tours and such. I am hoping that information gets here soon so we can start planning what we are going to do once we get there. Anybody have any suggestions?
I stayed up to watch the end of the game, and I am so glad I did. Wow! It was awesome!!! The game went into overtime and Brett threw an 82 yard touchdown pass! Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That makes the Packers 6 - 1!!! We felt bad, so we let the Bears win when they did.
I haven’t blogged about this yet since I am still pretty upset over the whole situation. Madison had a dentist appointment on Friday. It was to get her teeth cleaned. She was terrified. This was a general dentistry office. Instead of trying to calm her down, they threatened her instead. They told her that if she didn’t behave that they would kick me out of the room and shut the door. That made her even more terrified. After giving her five minutes to collect herself, they told me I would have to reschedule. I was so mad. We are never going back there. Ever. Bill and I won’t be going there either. I now have made an appointment for pediatric dentist for her to go to. It wasn’t like she was asking for a pearl necklace. She just wanted her mommy there holding her hand.
I was going through the mail over the weekend and I came across an offer for Qwest. I already know that Qwest is not in my area, so I was highly confused to why they were sending me information. I finally got around to reading the letter, and it was because they thought I was buying some Arizona real estate! Why would they get that idea? The only thing I could figure out was that we requested information for vacationing in Arizona. Weird, huh?
