Take me back!

I do like being at home. However, I did truly enjoy myself at the Pampers Mommy Blogger Event. Over the next couple days, I hope to be able to write about all I learned about diapers, pampers, and unicef. I remember again why I hate flying though. Actually, I hate little planes. During takeoff, I feel like a couple of corsets are wrapped around my ribs and then squeezed.  I guess I could call it a minipanic attack.  However, once we land or take off I am fine.  If I am in a bigger plane, I don’t have that issue either.  I know last night I was missing my huge comfy king bed at the Westin.  I walked around in my new slippers that I got (and they are awesome!), but it just isn’t the same.

My Bathroom Today

Today was not a good day at my house. My toilet overflowed. ALL DAY LONG. No, I didn’t know that there was a turn off switch behind the toilet till about ten minutes before Bill got home from work. Yes, this was in the bathroom that we did the bathroom remodel in. I seriously could have cried the whole time. I tried plunging for over 20 minutes to no avail. Also, for some stupid reason, our toilet kicks in all the time. I don’t know why it does it nor do I know how to make it stop. What I did not realize was that every time it kicks in that it runs water. Sooo, we were leaking water all over the bathroom before I even knew it. Yes, the water made its way downstairs too. I think I ended up wrapping the toilet in something like 20 towels throughout the afternoon. I even drained some of the water using a cup. It was crazy. Bill came home and plunged the stupid thing 4 times and fixed it. I could have screamed!

Now, we installed a new tub in this bathroom. However, we did that mainly, because Bill wanted to add a whirlpool tub. The tub that was in here before we think was the original one put in the house (which would have been in the 1920s). Before we tore it out, we looked at doing a bath tub refinishing project but really couldn’t find any companies who did it. I did like my old tub and a bath tub refinishing would have been nice. However, since we did go with the whirlpool tub, we have been told we greatly improved the value of the bathroom. Seriously, if you were looking at a house, would you want a tub that was flaking paint off or one that was brand new or one that looked nice? That is a no brainer for us, so we replaced the tub as part of the basement remodel.

Now, my mom has back issues and has a hard time getting in and out of tubs. I would love to be able to buy her one of these someday:

This is one of those walk in showers. I think she would absolutely love it. Plus, if you end up selling your home to a family with kids or a senior citizen couple, they would love it too!

What kind of tub do you have in your bathroom?

eBuffet.com

Since I haven’t been home in two days since I went to the Pampers Mommy Blogger Event, I have a ton of things I should be doing like cleaning and laundry.  However, I am doing none of those.  Instead, I am looking at hutches and other things for my kitchen (shhh, don’t tell Bill).

As many of you may know (and for those of you who do not), I have a huge kitchen.  I think it is about 15×17 or something like that.  However, my cabinets stink (to the point, I have to turn my plates sideways to get them in there), so I am always in the market for something that will make my life easier and add value to my kitchen (and make it look pretty too).

I always like to look at hutches (which eBuffet.com has), but the way my kitchen is configured, they are really hard to fit in there. I have 4 windows that make life difficult (I have an extra garden window in there too, but that doesn’t count). However, after checking out the hutches, I took a peek at the buffet furniture. I saw a ton of buffet table furniture that I would absolutely love. Here are two of my choices:

What do you think of my buffet cabinets choices? I like them both though I think I like the first one better. What I love about these cabinets the most is that they come with free shipping and a 100% satisfaction guarantee (they know the way straight to my heart). I can only imagine how much shipping these heavy items from other companies would cost! I love that if I don’t like it, I can send it back!

Now, I just have to talk Bill into remodeling the kitchen.  Anybody want to give me a hand with that?

I Arrived In Cincinnati

I love getting off a plane and being greeted with a sign. It makes me feel, well, important. This is day one of the Pampers Mommy Bloggers Event. I just got to Cincinnati, and its just as hot and miserable here as it is in Chicago. However, I am in an awesome hotel. I can’t wait to sleep, alone, in my king size bed.  I think it even has a down comforter.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they had a Austin Air air purifiers in the rooms. Yes, it is the little things that make me happy.  I have to say I was happily surprised with the little gift packs they had awaiting us in our rooms.  Lets see, there’s toothbrush, Secret, Olay, Water, sleep mask, loofah, and some awesome slippers that I can’t wait to try on tonight!  I have about ten minutes before I have to leave to go take my tour of P & G (that’s who makes Pampers!).  I guess this is a tour that journalists don’t even get to go on.  After that, we are going to dinner in Kentucky!  I can’t wait.  I have to remember that I don’t have to inhale my food since the kids aren’t here.  That’s what they have planned so far for day 1 for us.  Tomorrow, we will be conferences all day, so I am pretty sure I won’t have much time for blogging.  However, I am hoping to get a couple pictures tonight, so you can see what awesome company I am with.  Well, I have to head off for my tour so talk to you all later!

I guess he should have just given him a couple of pens to run around and color the house with too! Actually, I was not too upset with the mohawk (I think it is cute too!), but that he did it with sunscreen.  Gel is a whole lot cheaper than sunscreen dear!  I can’t wait to try and get that all out of his hair!
