Samsung Galaxy S® 5

As many of you may know, Bill and I have been making some huge lifestyle changes this summer. He is currently down 45 lbs., and I am down 30 lbs. We still have a little way to go, but the Samsung Galaxy S 5 Sport is a perfect phone for us. SamsungTelecommunications America and a collaboration with health and fitness market leaders Under Armour and MapMyFitness have teamed up to offer mobile solutions for today’s active lifestyles through this smartphone! These are what you can find on your new phone:

  • Sprint Fit LiveSM delivers instant access to favorite health and activity apps from the active wallpaper or the full screen experience to tailor workouts, music and healthy living content to fitness interests and routine
  • MapMyFitness uses GPS to track all fitness activities, and records workout details, including duration, distance, pace, speed, elevation, calories burned and route traveled on an interactive map (<— my favorite!!!!)
  • Activity Zone offers the ability to open active lifestyle features, including a Barometer, Compass, Flashlight and Stopwatch, from a single screen
  • S Health™1, an integrated mobile health platform to access health info, map out your workouts and make healthier eating choices, even measure your heart rate when touching the back of Galaxy S 5 Sport (<— love this heart monitor!)

This is a phone that supports a healthy lifestyle. Seriously, how many phones on the market make it easy to make healthy choices? I'm all over anything that makes my life that much easier! Besides these great apps, there are a lot of phone features that I love:

  • HD Voice, virtually eliminating background noise and sound quality is dramatically enhanced on a call between two Sprint HD Voice-enabled devices on upgraded areas of the Sprint network
  • Spotify, a catalog of more than 20 million songs, allows users to play music on demand,create playlists, discover new music, share tracks with their friends, listen to songs offline, and listen to music without ads across multiple devices (<–another one of my favorite apps!!!). It is sooooo much easier to work out listening to music that we like. We listen to alternative music, and it's a lot harder to find than you think!
  • Dual Cameras: 16-megapixel rear-facing Phase Detection Auto Focus camera with Zero Shutter Lag, flash and video capture, and 2-megapixel front-facing camera with full HD recording at 30fps
  • Studio, a complete photo and video editing suite (<– this is beyond sweet!)
  • Google Play™ with more than 1 million apps, millions of songs and books, and thousands of movies
  • Samsung Smart Remote simplifies searching and recommends TV, movies and sports according to personal tastes. With Smart Remote and the built-in IR blaster, Galaxy S 5 Sport functions as a remote control for home theater equipment. (This is Bill's most favorite feature).
  • Air View™ lets you hover your finger over photos, files, links and text for an instant preview

MySamsungGalaxy S 5 Sportis electric blue. The first thing Will ever said to me about the phone was that he loved the color (he is also 7, and besides playing games, isn't really allowed to do anything else on this phone). The other thing I love is that this is truly a “sport” phone. The phone itself is super easy to grip, and you don't have to worry about it slipping out of your hand if you are sweaty.

I've not had a Samsung Galaxy before, and I really like this phone. I love that it is really a phone that can make my life easier, and that it actually supports the healthy life choices Bill and I are making now! There are no more excuses when your smartphone can track everything for you! I have to admit that I also agree with my son; I totally love the color! I also love the S Voice feature where I can perform tasks just by talking to the phone. I also love the Activity Zone app that not only tells me what direction I'm going, it also has a flashlight! No special apps you have to download! If you want to track your time when exercising, it also has a stopwatch.
