I Hate Summer Construction

Seriously, this is worst year for construction. I mean it is crazy bad. Chicago to Green Bay should only take us about 4 hours. This last weekend (and last weekend too for that matter) took us 6 hours! My kids can barely last the 4 hours, so needless to say it was not a fun ride. There is only so much you can do in a Prius with a 5 year old and a 2 year old. We did have our portable DVD player, but that only works for so long.

Besides the hellish drive, our trip was great. I got to see family both days and catch up. My only complaint is that it was hot and muggy. But that’s summer for you. :)

I’ve got a couple of pictures I’ll be uploading (when I find my camera) of the kids with their newest cousin Gabe! And for those who don’t know it’s my sister’s birthday today. Make sure you head over to Karebear Central to wish her a happy birthday!

Wordless Wednesday: Summer Fun

We took these up in Green Bay at Bay Beach when it was hotter than well you know. The kids had a blast at Bay Beach, and that alone makes it worth taking the kids there. What makes it even better is that it is super cheap. Tickets are 20 cents and most rides take one or two tickets. You can literally spend all day there and not spend $20! It makes you forget about real life and all of those problems like needing to buy water heater or pest control products.  There are rides for all ages there.  These pictures were taken while we were on the train (2 tickets).

Football Sunday

Bill has been gone to the Chicago Bears game all day.  The final score was 48-41, so needless to say, it really was a fun, interesting, nailbiting game.  He’s on his way home right now ( I just called him), and they are still stuck in traffic!  Right now, I am watching the Green Bay Packers while I am waiting.  Being from Green Bay, I love when I am able to watch both games!  Trust me, a Packer fan living in Chicago gets a lot of flack.  Right now, (crossing my fingers and hoping I don’t jinx them), the Packers are winning 27 – 7 against the Indianapolis, and they are looking pretty good.  Yes, even when the hubby isn’t home I watch football.

Ohhh while I was writing this, Packers intercepted and the score is 34 – 7.  Wooohooooo!  Go Pack Go!
