5 Terrific Spring Cleaning Tips You Need

Even though it’s unclear whether it is still winter or Spring here in Chicago (it snowed several days last week), it’s really spring here. I’ve already started spring cleaning my house, and on the really nice days, I’ve even opened my windows to let the fresh air in. There is a rumor that it will reach the 70s by the end! That will allow me to do a ton of Spring Cleaning. Here are a 5 spring cleaning tips that I like to use:

Sponges

Sometimes you have one sponge that needs to do all the work.  If that’s the case, make sure you periodically disinfect that.  The easiest way to do that is to place it in the microwave on high for about a minute.

Space Bags

I love, love, love these.  All my winter clothes get put into these every year.  You vacuum the air out, and it takes up a whole lot less space!  Plus, more room in my closet!

Toss expired drugs and cosmetics

I use spring cleaning as a reminder to review the medicine we have in the house and ensure it’s all still effective.  I also do the same with my makeup.

Garbage disposal

Make sure you clean this out.  Add some baking soda and vinegar, and watch it bubble!  This cleans all the gunk out.  After doing this, I usually like to add a lemon, switch it on, and then my house smells lemony fresh!

Rings On Your Tub

  1. Ever notice that if you have cans like for shaving cream, they leave you rings on your tub?  An easy way to do that is to put a layer of clear nail polish on the bottom of the can (or a metal soap dish or waterer).  No more rust stains!

I use these 5 spring cleaning hacks all the time!  Another thing you can do is stock up on the products you need in the spring and save money!

What is your spring cleaning tip?
