5 Spring Cleaning Tips

disclosure
Even though it can't decide if it is still winter or Spring here in Chicago (it snowed several days last week), it really is Spring here. I've already started spring cleaning my house, and on the really nice days, I've even opened my windows to air out the house. There is a rumor that it'll be up the 70s by week end! That will allow me to do a ton of Spring Cleaning. Here are a few spring cleaning tips that I like to use:

  1. Sponges. Sometimes you have once sponge that needs to do all the work. If that's the case, make sure you periodically disinfect that. The easiest way to do that is to place it in the microwave on high for about a minute.
  2. Space Bags. I love, love, love these. All my winter clothes get put into these every year. You vacuum the air out, and it takes up a whole lot less space! Plus, more room in my closet!
  3. Toss expired drugs and cosmetics. I use spring cleaning as a reminder to go through the medicine we have in the house and make sure it's all still good. I also do the same with my makeup.
  4. Garbage disposal. Make sure you clean this out. Add some baking soda in there with some vinegar and watch it bubble! This cleans all the gunk out. After doing this, I usually like to throw a lemon in there, switch it on, and then my house smells lemony fresh!
  5. Ever notice that if you have cans like for shaving cream, that leave you rings on your tub. An easy for for that is putting a layer of clear nail polish on the bottom of the can (or metal soap dish or waterer is causing that). No more rust stains!

I use these 5 hacks all the time! Another thing you can do is stock up on the products you need in the spring and save money! You can head over to your local Walmart to get everyday essentials for less in April like I did.

You can also head towww.stockupsave.com. You can save even more by checking out rewards from P&G with the Ibotta app beginning April 11! Also, make sure that you check out theApril Stock Up & Save Event on Facebookto learn more information and get reminders throughout the month! Who doesn't like saving money? When you stock up to get everyday essentials for less, you won’t run out when you need something most.

We start earlier.. and I am afraid that we end up cleaning a lot longer than we should. I make sure we always re-stock the first aid kit because that seems to get forgotten in all the mix.
