Celebrating My #Lobsterworthy Birthday

We won’t get into how old I am, but my birthday was last Friday. I have a rule on my birthday though – I refuse to make dinner. I think it is a good rule, and my family seems to abide by it. This year, we spent my birthday at Red Lobster!

This sight is what you always see when we go to Red Lobster. My kids love watching the lobsters in the tank they have at my local Red Lobster. We had a 45 minute wait, so this definitely kept the kids busy for part of that. We then ordered our drinks and appetizers. Since it was my birthday, I ordered a Strawberry Lobsterita.

Bill had a Lobster Rum. This refreshing limited edition specialty drink features Malibu Red, pineapple juice and mango passion fruit mix, topped with Myers’s Dark Rum.

We then ordered my favorite appetizer – shrimp cocktail!

Funny thing is — Madison ate most of them. However, Bill ate most of the delicious biscuits:

I ordered the tilapia but Bill had the Lobster Scampi Linguini. This is succulent Maine lobster meat over a bed of linguini in a white wine and garlic-scampi sauce. He said it was delicious!

Since we were there to celebrate my #Lobsterworthy moment (my birthday!), we also had dessert – brownie a la mode.

For those of you who don’t know, Red Lobster is the world’s largest seafood restaurant company with over 700 restaurants in the United States and Canada. They serve freshly prepared seafood at reasonable prices in a lively, contemporary seaside atmosphere and offers lobster options on virtually every page of the menu. If you are lucky like me, you can walk there too. (It’s literally down the street from where I live!). Lobsterfest is going on now and for a limited time. It is the one time of year you can choose from the largest variety of lobster dishes on the menu.  Exclusive dishes that are only available during Lobsterfest:

  • Lobster Lover’s Dream® – A succulent rock lobster tail and sweet split Maine lobster tail, roasted and served with lobster-and-shrimp linguini Alfredo.
  • Dueling Lobster Tails – two Maine lobster tails, one roasted and topped with tender shrimp in a creamy garlic sauce, the other golden-baked with crab-and-seafood stuffing.
  • Rock Island Stuffed Tilapia – Fresh tilapia roasted with crab-and-seafood stuffing and topped with Maine lobster meat in a creamy lobster butter sauce.

This was a great way to celebrate my birthday and an awesome night out with my family.  Have you been to Red Lobster before?  Would you order any of the exclusive dishes for Lobsterfest or is there something else off the menu you love?  Do you have any #Lobsterworthy moments you need to celebrate?

We don’t eat seafood at our house, but I would love to indulge in one of those margaritas! Looks so good.

  2. I LOVE Red Lobster. I worked there as a waitress in college and it is one of my husband and I’s favorite places to eat. We love the calamari and veggies on the appetizer menu! So Good!!

  3. What a great way to celebrate your birthday. We love Red Lobster and it is actually where we like to go to celebrate special occasions.

  4. Oh I am green with envy…only because I absolutely love eating at Red Lobster, but I just realized that it has been awhile since my family and I have been there! Well because of your post I will definitely plan a visit this week-end and try all the dishes you posted! Thanks for sharing!

  5. Although I’m a vegetarian and they don’t have an ideal selection for vegetarians, I do like to go there once in a blue moon and have a mixed drink or two. They have such a wonderful selection, too!

  6. I am absolutely addicted to Red Lobster’s cheddar biscuits! They are so dang delicious. It looks you had a great time, but that 45 minute wait would have done me in, lol!

  7. I love the lobster linguine from Red Lobster too! My family always celebrates special occasions there. That’s how much we love the food there!

  8. I haven’t been to a Red Lobster in such a long time. My hubby is allergic to fish so I don’t get a chance to enjoy it often as I would like to . Happy Belated Birthday 🙂

  9. It looks like you had quite a fabulous birthday celebration and Red Lobster is definitely a tasty place to celebrate! I’ll have to take the hubby to get some lobster.

  10. I have been to Red Lobster maybe three to four times in the last month and a half. I wish they would take reservations though, I nearly had to wait two hours the last time I went. So worth it for those biscuits and pina coldas!

  11. My husband (who’s from Italy) decided he wanted to go to Red Lobster for the first time this year for his birthday. I have to say that he was underwhelmed…probably because he comes from an island where fresh seafood is easy to come by and also prepared exceptionally well!

  12. I’m not much a seafood person but those drinks look yummy! I wonder if there is a Red Lobster around here? I think there used to be.

  13. Just by looking at the pictures, you have me drooling! What got me was the lobsterita. It looked way to cool for a margarita or shake. I wish to have that.

  14. Wow, that is one birthday-sized Strawberry Lobsterita! I haven’t had one of those before, I might just have to try one. I also might have to try the Lobster Scampi Linguini – that looks really good! BTW, Happy Belated birthday!
