Got gas? Jewel and Shell team up to help you save!

disclosureWant to know where you can find me once a week grocery shopping? My local Jewel-Osco! Their prices are right and they have everything I am looking for from cereal to gluten free waffles to chocolate milk. That is why I was so excited to see this sign on their door this week while shopping:

Jewel-Osco shoppers can find additional value by saving not only in Jewel-Osco stores but also at the pump. In relationship with Shell, Jewel-Osco has launched a Gas Rewards program! All you need to do is your normal grocery shopping and then you get to save on gas. I love not having to buy certain products or do anything special. It is super easy.

How do you enroll in this awesome program? First, you need to sign up either by downloading the Jewel-Osco app available for iOS™ and Android® devices or on Jewel-Osco.com or with your existing MyMixx registered phone number.

Then log into your account and fill in what store you regularly shop at.

As you can see, the app tells you everything you need to know. Basically, for every $1 you spend (my shopping bill was $117), you get a point (which means I have 117 points). Every 100 points gets you a 10 cent per gallon Gas Reward for a single fill up at a participating Shell station. You can use your points in increments of 100 and use up to 200 points at a time. There is a limit of 20 gallons or less, and one vehicle per transaction. Your reward points are available for use approximately 4 hours after being earned. This program costs nothing to be a part of. Do note, your rewards expire at the end of the month following the one in which they were earned. For example, rewards earned in January can be used through the end of February. Now to redeem at Shell is just as easy. Follow the pump screen prompts to accept and redeem your Gas Rewards by entering your registered phone number (or give your number to the cashier). Gas Reward points can't be used after pumping.

As you can see, we are super excited with the new Gas Rewards program at Jewel! I can't wait to fill up my tank and save some more money!

I signed up for my mix and what I purchase registers at Jewel. My mix is my cell number.
Yet when I go to shell, The screen returns with number not valid. We have tried numerous times at the pump. When we go inside for help at register it doesn’t work either. No one from Jewel or Shell has been able to help. We get the shrug of the shoulder with…”I don’t know, sorry.” Do you have any suggestion?

    Regard,
    Jan

I’ve used the register in the gas stations myself with no issue. I’m guessing you have to go through Jewel because its their program.
