If you know me, I will be the first to tell you that I stink at math. I always have.
That being said, I wish Mathnasium was around when I was a kid. Mathnasium is a math-only learning center with 44 locations in the Chicagoland region. Mathnasium builds confidence in children in a fun and rewarding environment. No one is dumb in math there. They teach your kids in a way that they don't get frustrated. Theyknow that any child can be successful in math—it’s a matter of teaching it in a way that makes sense to them. Mathnasium’s experienced math instructors utilize their proprietary teaching curriculum and techniques,The Mathnasium Method™, to deliver a customized learning plan designed to address student’s individual needs. Their instructional approach goes beyond traditional math tutoring to develop understanding and build a long-term love for math. Your kids learn why they doing things instead of being told to just do it.
I think this is an amazing concept. I recently visited the center in Naperville. We have reached the point that I can't help them with their math homework and Bill isn't always around to help. With the Evergreen Park location close to me, I am definitely looking into signing them here. If you can learn to love (or even just like) math at a young age, it's good. What they are learning now are the building blocks to much more difficult math in high school. If they don't' have a good grasp of concepts, it is going to be a struggle all the way through!
When the kids come in, they each have their own math binder. Their either work on worksheets in there or they can have their instructor help them with their math homework. There are 3-4 kids assigned to each instructor. Also, different locations have different monthly activities that go on. They take kids from K – college too!
Since I think we should all use them, I have arranged for my readers to get $50 off their first month with Mathnasium!
How are you at math? Is Mathnasium something your kids could use?
Mathnasium sounds like a great thing, something I wish was around when I was a child. I just didn’t ‘get’ maths and to this day I still hate everything to do with numbers because I found it so hard.
I need this for my son since I pretty much sucks at math too! So great to know that there are tools like this to help parents and children when it comes to math. Will definitely investigate this, thanks to you! 🙂
I just heard about this the other day. I’m quite interested in learning more about it because my son could use all the help we can get.
I stink at Math! Ask me to diagram a sentence and I’ll all over it. I wish these centers had been around when I was in school.
I love math but this sounds like a great resource for people who have trouble with it! Great post!
Math is such a hard subject to help kids with sometimes. This sounds like a great program and aid to help keep kids on track in school.
Math was my favorite subject in school. I’m trying to encourage my daughters to pursue their interests in science and math. Mathnasium sounds like a fabulous program.
How great does Mathnasium it sounds like something I would have really benefited from personally when I was a child as well. x
I am liking the sound of Mathnasium, adapting the lesson in a way that a child understands is the best way to tutori
I am a big fan in individualizing learning for each student. Everyone learns differently and it good to start catering towards that.
Math was not ,y strongest subject when I was in school. Mathnasium sounds great for kids who need a little extra help in that area.
We struggle with math homework at home. This would be ideal for my daughter. Do they have locations in other areas?
There are over 40 locations in the Chicagoland area. Just visit mathnasium.com to find the closest location.
My son loves Math.. It can be helpful for me to teach him more about Math..
Amazing idea and another lesson for me to share to my kids.. Math is quite difficult to learn but it is very important to us..
What a great option for people that struggle with math. I am okay with math, but not the best!
What a great idea! I’ve never, ever been good at math. This would of been so helpful in high school haha!
I am okay at math but I am sure I have forgotten a lot. I think Mathnasium would be awesome for my niece.
my son is not that good in Math, and I think this center can help us
