#NSNation – Week 9 Update – All About The MiniGoals

My overall goal when I joined Nutrisystem was to lose 100 lbs. I’ll be honest — when I started, I didn’t know if that was even an obtainable goal. Every time I’ve tried to diet in the past, I didn’t do so well.

With Nutrisystem, I was given the tools to succeed, and one of the recommendations we were given was to make minigoals. Yes, that 100 lbs would be great. However, I (and you) need something that is little closer at in grasp. So, I am actually going to reveal my minigoals to you all. For me, that is incredibly hard to do. In my warped brain, if I tell people my minigoal and don’t achieve it, then I’ve failed. Except I know that I haven’t, but my fat brain hasn’t figured that out yet. (And I call my brain the fat brain because even with everyone telling me how much weight it looks like I lost, I don’t see it!).

So with sweaty hands as I type this, here are my minigoals that I set up for myself:

  1. Lose 25 lbs.
  2. Lose 50 lbs.
  3. Lose 75 lbs.
  4. Get below 200 lbs.
  5. Get out of Plus Size Clothes

Here’s a little video I made letting you know what goal I beat!

As you can see, I’ve hit my first mini goal. It took me 9 weeks to lose 25 lbs. Now, that 25 lbs was no where near as daunting as 100 lbs or even 50 lbs. That is what this is all about. I can celebrate that I lost 25 lbs. That makes me proud to tell people.

When you lose weight, do you set minigoals? What minigoals do you set for yourself? Any minigoals I should add to my list?

THIS WEEKS WEIGHT LOSS: 1.4
TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS: 25

  1. I'm so proud of you.

Plus, now that 50 pounds isn't undaunting…you know you can lose 25 pounds..you just did..and that's all you have to lose to meet your next goal!

  2. That is so awesome! You are well on your way! I would say to add daily mini goals to your life that has to do with nutrition or exercise. Like cut up some veggies for this week for snacks. or look up how many calories are in the dinner you are making tonight. or go to the store and buy a food scale. Things like that if you make it a priority to add like 2 little goals a day, it will help keep that big goal in mind and get you there much quicker. You are doing awesome! Love to see great results like that!

  3. Well done you. I've just had the news that I may have celiac disease and may have to go gluten free which looks like it's going to be a whole world of problems, but it could be worse I suppose. Shame, cos the Nutrisystem looks pretty cool.
