There is nothing better than eating breakfast with the stars from Young & Hungry, the new ABC Family show that is beyond funny. Even better, you actually get to watch the actors on this show eating. You don’t see that on most programming. Plus, the food looks awesome. I wouldn't mind a few of the recipes at my house! Emily Osment plays Gabi Diamond, a food blogger hired as a personal chef for a tech guru and his fiance. You may remember Emily from Hannah Montana. I got to sit down to breakfast with Emily Osment, Jonathan Sadowski, Rex Lee, Aimee Carrero and the show's executive producer, David Holden.
Rex Lee was amazing to talk to. He was funny and totally down to earth. He told us a great story about the “pork chop test”. What this means, is that he wants to know everything about the character he is playing. You figure out how they react to everything and how they would eat a pork chop. If you know how they would eat a pork chop even if that never makes the screen, you've got the character down. This just shows what a great work ethic Rex has!
David Holden was incredibly funny too. Not too surprising, he's a foodie! He told us we have to try Scandinavian Princess Cakes and that he had a Thai pot pie recipe he was going to send to everybody at my table. You could tell his love for this show.
Emily was so sweet and so nice. She doesn't do a lot of cooking herself, but she did tell us that the food we see is edible, and yes, they eat it. They also shoot Young And Hungry in front of a live studio audience on Friday's. Her aprons are also custom made for her.
Aimee is another foodie among us. She told us her recipe for “slutty brownies” and let me tell you, it sounded so good! She also has a passion for youth art education, because that's where she learned she loved to act. She wants everyone to also have that opportunity.
Jonathan Sadowski is from Chicago, so he already scored high in my book. He's originally from the South side (Bridgeport), so he's a Chicago White Sox fan. He's so much more outgoing in real life than the character he plays. He had a broken foot, and he did it like most of us — just walking. He wasn't doing anything crazy. Amazingly, he didn't miss any work when he did it! He decided to do this show because it was a “breath of fresh air, full of sincerity and a lot of heart.”
Young & Hungry is a great new show you have to check out so make sure you tune in at 8:00pm ET/PT on ABC Family. Jesse McCartney will be guest starring on tonights episode!
