When it comes to dinner in Gulf Shores, Lulu’s is an absolute must-stop destination! Between the incredible food and the live music, Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s Gulf Shores delivers an experience you simply cannot miss.
Fair warning – this place is popular, and I cannot stress enough how important it is to make a reservation online before you go. We had a group of 16 (yes, 16!), and even with a reservation, we still waited nearly two hours. But honestly? The wait is half the fun at LuLu’s Buffett.
While you’re waiting, there is no shortage of things to do! Explore the arcade, browse the gift shop, or grab a drink and relax at the picnic tables along the river in the shade. They even have a sand area for the kids! Trust me, you won’t be watching the clock.
Now, here’s what truly blew me away – our waiter handled all 16 of us like an absolute pro. Every order was correct. Every check was correct. He even remembered which kids belonged to which parents. For a group that size, that level of service is nothing short of remarkable.
The menu at Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s Gulf Shores did not disappoint either. We sampled everything from fried green tomatoes (a must-try!) to fried okra, plus the catch of the day.
And speaking of the catch – scan the code on the fish, and you’ll find out exactly when it was caught, who caught it, and where. How cool is that? It was as fresh and delicious as it sounds!
To top off the night, one of the kids was celebrating a birthday, and the staff surprised her with a dessert and plenty of spoons to share. Those little touches make all the difference.
We finally left LuLu’s Buffett full, happy, and already planning our next visit. If you’re heading to Gulf Shores, do yourself a favor and put Lulu’s at the top of your list!

They have so much to offer other than good food which is perfect for families. I love that you can check info on your fish as well. That’s something I’ve never tried before.
Such an impressive place to dine in! I wouldn’t mind the wait if there are lots of activities to keep both kids and adults busy. The QR code that came with the dish is an awesome idea to let you know more about the dish you ordered.
