Best Buy is one of my most favorite stores. Usually. However, last night was an entirely different story (and this review is actually going to be more like rant instead). On Sundays, Best Buy closes at 7. I personally thought I had plenty of time. What I didn’t know was that out of the three people in the computer department, 2 of them were new. Interesting times, let me tell you. In the amount of time it took me to get waited on, I could have seriously taken a CDL training course. The other thing is that I went looking there for a desktop. This weeks ad had a ton of them in there. Surprise, Surprise. Of all the desktops that had in their ad, they had 1 in stock. Yes, 1 in stock. They had some not in their ad but the CPUs along were over $1,000. Ummm, no thanks. I ended up walking out of Best Buy at 8:00 pm — one hour after they closed due to their employees having no training!
/rant over
A few weeks back I stopped into BestBuy for a headset for my phone. Every time I go in there, they've moved stuff which is a bite. And then, most of them have no clue where they've moved the stuff to… So while hunting the aisles, I saw a man just starring at the antivirus totally confused. I walked past him, around a corner, then headed back. I advised him to not buy what he was looking at, their quality has really gone downhill in the past few years, and advised him to go online when he got home and check into Kaspersky. Needless to say, no commission sale for me, LOL, but the guy was grateful 🙂
A couple of years ago I learned that when dealing with Best Buy, it's best to phone ahead if I'm planning on a larger purchase. It seems like whenever a brand new store opens the service is wonderful but after a few months it's spotty at best.
Don't you love how all the major chains never have a decent supply to match the demand their ad generates. I find that the drug stores are the worst, but that is just small items not tvs and stuff.
Great blog, I'll definitely be checking back in!
As Diane always says, BuyFromBloggers! 😆
I have never understood why they do that. Only keep 1 or 2 of those items on hand. I use to work for Staples & i got screamed at so many times for this. It*s a pain on both ends.
I have yet to have a good customer service experience at Best Buy, aside from one really nice woman at the returns desk. You could wander forever in the computer section looking for someone to help you with a simple question, and you'd be out of luck. 🙄 I'm sorry that your experience there wasn't that great, either.
I share your frustration. I had similar experience with them as well as some other stores for not having enough supplies after they put a promotion. Shame on them.
