Isabella: Girl on the Go is about a little girl who travels around the world experiencing its greatest wonders without ever leaving her own backyard. Isabella spends the day playing with her dad as she discovers that the far corners of the world are closer than you may think. She pretends everyday things (like the sandbox) are extraordinary places (like the desert and pyramids of Egypt). She travels to the Pyramids of Giza, Eiffel Tower, Great Wall of China, Chichén Itza, Big Ben, and the Statue of Liberty. Isabella ends the day in her own house. A back-of-the-book “Places That Changed the World” section features descriptions of all the places Isabella visits.
This is a pretty cool book. I love how Isabella uses her creativity and imagination to visit the world and never leave her house. I also love the prominent role her dad plays in the story. You don’t often see dads getting included in stories like this. It’s a cute short book that will hold everyone’s attention. I definitely recommend reading it!
