My new favorite show right now has to be Chasing Life. You can tune in at 9:00pm ET/PT on ABC Family every Tuesday night. If you haven't watched the show yet,Chasing Lifefollows twenty-something April (Italia Ricci), a smart and quick-witted aspiring journalist, who is trying to work her way up the ladder at a Boston newspaper by trying to impress her hard-nosed editor. When not pursuing the latest scoop, April tries to balance her ambitious career with her family – her widowed mom Sara, rebellious little sister Brenna and her grandmother. Just as things start to look up at work, home and on the romance front with co-worker Dominic, April gets the devastating news from an estranged uncle that she has cancer.

I totally relate to this story. Something I didn't talk about too much on here was the health scare I had last October/November. I had went to the doctor for my thyroid issue. While she was doing the physical exam, she pushed on my stomach, and I almost flew across the room. Obviously, that's not normal. I spent the next 5 days wondering if I had cancer. I had a CT, a MRI, and lots of tests. It was totally scary, and I can totally relate to April. I thank my lucky stars every single day that I “only” had a hernia I had to be operated on to fix. I think that this is why I connect to the show so much. That is why it was totally amazing to interview the stars.

Best of all though, Chasing Life isn't all about the cancer. Yes, it is the elephant in the room. However, Chasing Life is really about living your life to the fullest which is something I think we all need to do. As I write this right now, I'm sitting on the beach at Myrtle Beach — living life.

I learned a ton from our interviews.

Did you realize that two former Wings stars are on Chasing Amy? Mary Page Keller told us how Steven Weber and Rebecca Schull would go off in the corner and talk all the time. (I didn't even make that connection!)

Mary Page Keller also told us “It was a no-brainer once I got the script. It wasn’t for the typical Mom on ABC Family show”. Roles like these don't come around and Mary plays such a strong woman.

Executive Producer Sean Smith showed us a picture of his adopted 14 month old son and how his son really changed his perspective for this show. April, in the show, was delaying treatment, and we talked about how as parents we just want our kids well and want to do anything and everything to make them well. (Yes, I got to see a picture of this cutie).

Haley Ramm plays younger sister Brenna. A cool fact about her: she’s from Dallas and was the 2nd baby born at Plano Presbyterian Hospital. I was shocked when she told us she was 22 years old! She was also homeschooled and gets along a whole lot better with her mom than Brenna does.

Italia Ricci was amazing to talk to. This was really her first big break. Her co-workers had nothing but good things to say about her. She actually feels guilty, because she gets to go home at night and no longer have cancer, and there are so many people out there that don't have that luxury. It just goes to show how down to earth she really is.

What an exciting day. I have not viewed Chasing Life as of yet, but I know I would like this show also. Health scares are the worst and we can relate. I agree to live your life to the fullest.
