Bring On the Blizzard: Lands’ End Kids Snow Pants Review Now

When Lands’ End sent over a pair of their Kids’ Squall Snow Pants, I jumped at the chance to put them to the test. As luck would have it, we’ve had a surprisingly snow-free winter so far which means Madison hasn’t had her big moment to stomp through the drifts just yet. But that hasn’t stopped me from giving these pants a thorough once-over, and honestly? I’m already impressed.

Quality You Can See (and Feel)

If your family is anything like ours, snow pants don’t exactly live a gentle life. Between sledding hills, snowball fights, and the occasional faceplant, kids put their gear through serious paces. We’ve cycled through plenty of snow pants over the years, and I can say with confidence that the Snow Pants are the best-constructed pair we’ve owned.

The material feels substantial and purposeful. Lands’ End built these with a waterproof and windproof fabric that means business. No more worrying about wet legs halfway through a snow day. I’ve always chosen snow pants because I feared leaking, so knowing these pants stay dry feels like a huge win for this mom.

Thoughtful Details That Make a Real Difference

What really caught my attention were the little design choices that show Lands’ End actually thought about how kids usethese pants:

  • Reinforced knees and seat – double the durability right where kids need it most. Whether she’s crawling through a snow fort or sliding down an icy hill on her bottom, these reinforced spots hold up to whatever she throws at them.
  • Elastic ankle cuffs – this is one of my favorite features. The elastic at the feet creates a seal that keeps snow and water from sneaking in at the bottom. Any parent who’s dealt with soggy socks knows exactly why this matters.
  • A trim, fitted cut – Madison is a slender little thing, and one of my biggest frustrations with kids’ snow gear is how boxy and oversized it tends to run. These pants actually fit her without swallowing her whole, which means she can move freely and actually enjoy being outside.

Sizes, Colors, and Long-Term Value

The Snow Pants come in a wide range of sizes and colors, so finding the right fit for your child shouldn’t be a struggle. Lands’ End also backs their quality with a satisfaction guarantee, which speaks to how confident they are in what they’re making.

And here’s my favorite part: Lands’ End made these pants so well that I fully expect them to last through both of my kids. Madison will get her winters out of them, and then they’ll be right there waiting for Will. When you’re investing in quality winter gear, that kind of longevity makes every penny worth it.

We’re still waiting on that first real snowfall to put the Snow Pants through their ultimate test, but based on everything I’ve seen so far (the construction, the materials, the smart design features) I have zero doubts they’ll deliver. They look great, they keep kids warm and dry, and they hold up season after season.

For any parent tired of replacing flimsy snow pants every season, Lands’ End Kids Snow Pants are absolutely worth a look.

  1. Thank you for this insightful review of the Lands End Kids Snow Pants — you really hit the most important points.
Our experience with these pants has been consistently excellent. My son has been wearing Lands End winter gear ever since he first started walking. And he really puts them to the test!
We already have his set – size 12 fit him a bit loose and a bit long, but he is a fast growing ten year old.
Parents looking for excellent value for money deserve Lands End.
