NASCAR

I just realized that I never posted about our NASCAR experience. We were able to take our kids to NASCAR a couple of weeks ago when they were here. Bill has been there once. However, the rest of us had never been there. Here’s what our experience looked like: (http://my.thismoment.com/moment/view/75640/nascar)… Read More »NASCAR

Cranium Brain Breaks can be played almost anywhere and is super fast. It is the perfect game to take camping (which we did!) With more than 200 games that can be played in 60 seconds or less, families race to beat the timer using classic guessing, acting, sketching, sculpting and word-puzzling skills. It is recommended for ages 8 and up and is a two player or more game.

First Alert Combination Smoke/CO Voice Alarm Giveaway!

October is Fire Prevention Month. Did you know that according to a new nationwide survey, a majority of Americans don’t practice what they plan when it comes to fire safety. The survey showed that a majority of Americans reported having a home escape plan (79%). However, 51% never practiced it and only 29% practiced it once. The National Fire Protection Association recommends planning an emergency escape route and practicing it twice annually.

It is important to determine during drills whether or not your children can readily waken to the sound of smoke alarms. That is where First Alert Combination Smoke/CO Voice Alarm comes in. This technologically advanced alarm uses a loud, prerecorded and tamper proof human voice. Studies have shown that kids ages 6 to 10 are awakened more readily by a voice.

We were able to install one of these in our home, and it does work! The voice is actually a little strange since I’m soooo use to the annoying beep (well it was for me), but it definitely is something that will wake the house. Installation was easy.

Since it is fire prevention month and my family likes this product, I have arranged for one lucky winner to get their own First Alert Combination Smoke/CO Voice Alarm. Here is what you need to do:Read More »First Alert Combination Smoke/CO Voice Alarm Giveaway!
