Get Outside: Exciting Spring Activities to Try Now

spring activities

Spring is here, and with that comes the desire to get outdoors and do something fun. While there may be some spring showers, the sun is shining more, and the days are starting to last longer. Spring is the perfect time to get outdoors and enjoy some fun together. If you’re looking for some fun outdoor activities for spring to do alone or with the family, you’ve come to the right place. Today, I’m sharing some ideas to inspire you to get up and get outdoors.

Fun Outdoor Activities for Spring

Sidewalk Chalk

No matter how old or young you are, sidewalk chalk can be such a fun way to get outdoors and have some artistic fun. Purchase sidewalk chalk online or at your local retail store and go draw a hopscotch game or have an art contest to see who can color the most beautiful rock design.

Plan a Picnic

Check the local weather report and make a plan to go on a picnic together. Spring is the best season to enjoy a family picnic date. The weather isn’t too hot yet and the rain does hold off for some sunshine days. Make a plan to enjoy a meal outdoors in a field or the backyard with friends and family.

Take a Hike

While some hiking trails may still be covered in mud, you could find a paved hiking trail or a similar style trail to go for a hike. Whether you go alone or with the family, taking a hike in the spring season allows you to soak in some sun while experiencing the animals that spring brings out.

Community Cleanup

Check your local community calendar to see if there’s a community cleanup day. Spring is usually the time of year where most towns and cities host a cleanup day where community members can volunteer their time to clean up the town or city together.

Plant a Garden

If the ground isn’t at risk of freezing, plant a vegetable or flower garden. Planting a garden is a fabulous way to enjoy the fresh air and make plans to enjoy your backyard even more as you watch flowers or vegetables grow during the spring and summer seasons.

Blow Bubbles

I don’t care how old you are, bubbles are the perfect outdoor activity for spring. Purchase some bubbles and some cool bubble blowing toys for the whole family to enjoy childhood again. Kids young and old can find magic in the act of blowing bubbles outdoors together.

There you have it—some fun outdoor activities for spring that anyone can enjoy together or alone. Make plans soon to participate in some of these activities. You and your family can soak in some sunshine during the cool spring season.
